SUPPORT FACILITIES FOR DIVYANGJAN

RAMP FOR DISABLED STUDENTS

• The Ramps are built through the campus where uneven floor levels or kerbs are present to provide convenience and prevent tripping accidents.
• Ramps are helpful to push a pallet truck, trolley, or wheel chair over a kerb or step by negotiating just a few inches of height difference.
• Utility ramps solve the problem and make wheeled movement between uneven levels very easy.

DISABLED FRIENDLY WASHROOMS  

• Separate disabled friendly washrooms are available in the campus with scheduled maintenance, cleanliness and hygiene.
• It is designed as per the standard specification to accommodate people with physical disability.
• The sign board is provided outside of the washroom to access it easily and not to be used by others.

PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY

• The institute has made pedestrian friendly pathways at many areas by considering the disabled persons.
• The disabled students can move easily in these pathways either by walk or wheel chair.
• The disabled students feel free and can avoid human traffic when the use the pedestrian friendly pathways.

A Disability Service Coordinator is available at the uptown and downtown campus for each of the libraries. The coordinator’s role is to:

• Respond to all inquiries regarding services to persons with disabilities.
• Register users for services and verify eligibility.
• Arrange for training in the use of assistive equipment & software in the Libraries.
• Recommend facilities and services to meet the needs of users with disabilities.

WHEELCHAIR FACILITY

• The wheel chair is one of the most important mobility device used by the disabled persons.
• The institute has the wheel chairs which have adequate space to sit during usage.
• There is an availability of sufficient wheelchairs for the disabled person and one community worker is also available for the movement of disabled person from one place to another as per their requirement.
